The festival surrounding the competition is three days of events with entertainment the whole family will enjoy - all for only $7 per person and kids under 12 are free! Pork in the Park offers festival-goers a weekend packed with entertainment options. Complementing the festival’s featured events listed below, the festival offers live entertainment, rides and games, unique craft vendors, delicious food and cold beverages all weekend long.

VIPs will receive perks including access to the VIP tent adjacent to the main stage, access to premiere restroom facilities, KCBS competitor samples, beer samples, whole hog cooking demo and samples, gift bag and more! Tickets are $35 per person and must be purchased in advance. Only 250 tickets are available, tickets sold on a first come, first served basis.
After a weekend slicing, seasoning and sizzling pork, chicken and beef, competitive barbeque teams will find out if their efforts earned them a portion of the cash prizes and invaluable bragging rights on the Kansas City Barbeque Society BBQ circuit. Awards will be handed out in many categories including whole hog, beef, chicken, pork, ribs, anything butt and desserts.

Whether you know it as cornhole, bag toss or one of its many other names – cornhole and BBQ are a perfect pair in the backyard, so it only makes sense that we have it at the festival as well! The first place team will take home bragging rights, $300 cash and two golden tickets to participate in the World Championships of Cornhole!

Do your friends and family jump at the chance to join you at your place for a BBQ? If you think your chicken or ribs are up to snuff, test your skills in our Amateur Competition. Set-up begins at 8am, and the day concludes with an award ceremony at 4pm. Individuals or teams are welcome – but all meat must be cooked with charcoal or wood cookers, no propane grills here! Advanced registration is required.
