KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition

Are you ready to compete with your succulent beef brisket? Is your whole hog to die for? We want you to compete in the Pork in the Park Barbeque Festival in Maryland. With 142 competitors taking part in last year’s event, Pork in the Park is now the 2nd largest Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned competition and the largest east of the Mississippi! Check out the list of winning BBQ competitors who took part in the 2012 Pork in the Park Barbeque Festival.

BBQ Competition Events

All scheduled BBQ competition events will be held in the Judges Tent.

Friday Schedule

  • 5 pm - Competitors Meeting
  • 6 pm - Judges Meeting
  • 7 pm - Turn in for Anything Butt
  • 7:30 pm - Turn in for Dessert

Saturday Schedule

  • 7 am - Breakfast for Teams - Sponsored by Organizer
  • 9:00- 9:45 am - Judges Sign In - Continental Breakfast
  • 9:45-10:45 am - Judges Meeting
  • 10:00 am - Pig Police Meeting (Non KCBS Judges)
  • 11:00 am - Whole Hog Judging

KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Competition

Kansas City Barbeque Society

Competing BBQ teams spend the weekend slicing, seasoning and sizzling pork, chicken and beef in hopes that their cooking will earn them a portion of the cash prizes and invaluable bragging rights on the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) BBQ Circuit. The barbeque competition decisions lie in the hands of the KCBS certified professional judges. BBQ competition judging is done in many categories including whole hog, beef, chicken, pork, ribs, anything butt and a dessert category.
