BBQ Festival Activities and Special Events
The festival surrounding the competition is three days of events with entertainment the whole family will enjoy-all for only $5 per person and kids under 12 are free! Pork in the Park offers festival-goers a weekend packed with entertainment options. Complementing the festival’s featured events listed below, the festival offers live entertainment, rides and games, unique craft vendors, delicious food and cold beverages for sale all weekend long.
Eastern Shore Wing War (sponsored by Mountaire Farms)
Noon – 4:00pm
Come out and enjoy the first ever Eastern Shore Wing War, featuring 3 unique competitions that are sure to entertain all - from the wing connoisseur to the casual fan. The winners from each of the 3 competition will be announced at 4:00pm on the main festival stage.
People's Choice Wing Competition
Noon – 2:30pm
Sample the best-tasting wings that Eastern Shore restaurants have to offer in this bracket-style competition, as sixteen restaurants face-off in a March-madness style bracket. We'll be counting on you, the people, to decide who will be crowned the victor. The champion receives $200 cash and a banner to help with bragging rights. Brackets are $10 and include 20 wing-tasting tickets.
Let your favorite restaurant know you think they're up for the challenge. Restaurants interested in participating have until Friday, March 15th to register. Amateur Wing-Eating Competition
2:30pm (Main Festival Stage)
The area's biggest Wing Warriors will take the stage for a showdown in this winner-take-all eating contest. The competitor who eats the most in a timed period will be declared the Champion Warrior and take home $100 in prize money.

Major League Eating Professional Wing-Eating Competition
3:00 – 3:45pm (Main Festival Stage)
Professional eaters from around the world will go head to head at Pork in the Park during this wing-eating competition, sanctioned by the Major League Eating Federation. The world's #1 ranked eater, Joey Chestnut has already stepped up to the challenge to compete for a part of the $5000 prize purse. Joey Chestnut will compete alongside a cast of professional eaters in what is sure to be a spectacle to behold.

Annual Cornhole Tournament
First game at 1:00pm
Whether you know it as cornhole, bag toss or one of its many other names – cornhole and BBQ are a perfect pair in the backyard, so it only makes sense that we have it at the festival as well! The first place team will take home bragging rights and $300!
Backyard BBQ Amateur Competition
Beginning at 8am
Do your family and friends jump at the chance to join you at your place for a BBQ? If you think you make the best backyard chicken or ribs, then join us for the Annual Backyard BBQ Competition. Set-up begins at 8am, and the day concludes with an award ceremony at 4pm. Individuals or teams are welcome – but all meat must be cooked with charcoal or wood cookers, no propane grills here! Advanced registration is required.
